The Mastercard Foundation Scholars Programme at the University of Cambridge is thrilled to announce that applications for the 2024/2025 academic year are now open.
Our program at the prestigious University of Cambridge is specially designed to empower talented African students with fully funded opportunities to pursue their master’s degrees. By participating in this program, you not only gain access to world-class education but also nurture transformative leadership qualities. Furthermore, you’ll play a vital role in fostering climate resilience and sustainability in Africa and across the globe.
The scholarships we offer encompass a wide range of disciplines at Cambridge, with the exception of business-related courses such as the Master of Business Administration (MBA), Master of Corporate Law (MCL), and Master of Finance (MFin).
Eligibility Criteria:
To be eligible for this esteemed scholarship, you must meet the following criteria:
You must be a citizen of an African country.
You must ordinarily reside in an African country, unless you can demonstrate temporary absence for study or work with the intent to return, or unless you have been displaced.
You must be applying for a Master’s course of up to one year in duration at the University of Cambridge.
Application Process:
The application process begins with your admission application to the University of Cambridge through the course directory. This application must be completed by the funding deadline of the respective course. You can access the course directory here.
The funding application is integrated into the course application process. As part of your application, you’ll be required to submit a supplementary statement that highlights your personal commitment to contributing to climate-resilient and sustainable futures for Africa.
Application Deadline:
Make sure to mark your calendar! The deadline for submitting funding applications is December 5, 2023, for courses with a December 5th deadline, and January 5, 2024, for courses with a January 5th deadline. When applying, please pay close attention to the specific funding deadline for your chosen course.
