Khawaja Ghulam Farid University of Engineering and Information Technology Rahim Yar Khan
Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif laid the foundation stone of Khawaja Ghulam Farid University of Engineering and Information Technology in Rahim Yar Khan which will be completed within a short period of one year at a cost of Rs 3 billion, says a handout.
Chief Minister Shahbaz said that the university would be among modern universities of the country. He said that the people of southern Punjab reposed full confidence in his party, the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), in the last general elections and that it was now responsibility of the government to provide maximum facilities to the people of this region.
He said that classes in electrical and mechanical engineering, information technology and computer sciences disciplines would be started in the university from September and that a steering committee would be formed to ensure timely construction of the state-of-the-art building of the university.
He said that PhD teachers would be appointed in the university on merit and that funds allocated for the project would be utilised in a transparent manner. He assured the audience that all-out efforts would be made to make the university a model educational institution. He also called upon elected representatives and notables of the area to extend their full cooperation for the timely completion of the project.
