If you’re thinking about going to school, but afraid to break the bank on a four-year degree, there’s still plenty of great jobs you can get with a two-year degree. Here are some of the highest projected paying gigs in the US.
Depending on what you want to do—and who you know—you may not even need college, but it’s always best to research beforehand. Jacquelyn Smith at Business Insider scoured data provided by the US Bureau of Labor Statistics and filtered out 26 of the best paying jobs that require only an associate’s degree. Here are some of the top prospects:
Air traffic controller: A median annual wage of $122,530 with 11,400 projected job openings through 2022.
Radiation therapists: A median annual wage of $77,560 with 8,400 projected job openings through 2022.
Dental hygienists: A median annual wage of $70,210 with 113,500 projected job openings through 2022.
Nuclear medicine technologists: A median annual wage of $70,180 with 7,200 projected job openings through 2022.
Nuclear technicians: A median annual wage of $69,069 with 4,100 projected job openings through 2022.
Don’t worry, though, it’s not all planes, medicine, and nuclear technology. You could be a web developer, funeral service director, computer network support, or a mechanical drafter. Of course, just because these jobs only require an associate’s degree doesn’t mean they are any easier to get, but it’s good to know what kinds of options are out there. It’s never too late to go back to school and get into a new field.
